Artists own the so-called author’s rights and related rights. Such rights can be assigned to the artists of areas like: music, audiovisual, drama/literature and visual arts, such as, authors, composers, publishers, performers, accompanying musicians, producers, writers, directors, choreographers, visual artists, photographers, etc.
Regarding the rights of public music performance in Brazil, the ECAD (Central Bureau of Collection and Distribution) is responsible for the collection, and the distribution is done through its associations. Musical publishers, record labels and digital platforms, distribute the residuals or related rights directly to the artists.
From a thorough monitoring of the use of the client’s works, we have established close contacts with associations, record labels, publishers and digital content distributors in order to ascertain the regularity of checks and balances, scheduled payments, correction of entries, and the whole organization necessary to ensure the correct payments from these companies to the artists.
Working in partnership with national and international associations, We’ve developed a different business model, in which the artists don’t need to waive their rights to ensure a fair remuneration for their work.
For this, we have a highly qualified team of professionals, not only in the author’s rights area, but also in modern practices of catalog management of works and phonograms.
